Welcome to your Monday Hug!
Today, I invite you to spend the next 4 minutes with me to hear a special inspirational message from the Hugs devotional. It's here to inspire and help guide you through the rest of your week!
And after the video finishes, you’re encouraged to take a few moments to sit quietly and reflect on what you heard.
And if you want to gift someone a Love Came Down Wood Beaded Ornament Door Hanger found in the video, click here.
Blessings to you as you prepare for the week ahead!
Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. - Romans 12:9 MSG
They were sisters and they were best friends. They were the incomparable centenarians, the Delaney sisters. When Bessie and Sadie Delaney published their memoirs in 1993, American readers rejoiced at the wit and wisdom of two women who had shared a hundred years together.
Bessie Delaney was the second African-American woman to be licensed to practice dentistry in New York. Sadie was the first black woman to teach domestic science in a New York high school. Both women were opinionated, insightful, and enthusiastic about life.
The Delaney sisters understood the importance of family and the importance of friendship. And they both understood (from personal experience) that a beloved family member and a best friend are often one and the same.
“A genuine friendship is a heavenly present. It blesses our hearts because God’s love is in it.” - Evelyn McCurdy
