Your Monday Hug for Sep 22, 2025: A Growing Relationship with God

Happy Monday, my Friend!

This week, we’re reflecting on growing our relationship with God. Often it’s not the “big” conversions that shape us most, but the daily ones - the little choices and childlike moments that open our hearts to Him.

They don’t have to be dramatic or life-changing. Sometimes it’s as simple as a deep breath between errands, a quiet cup of coffee before the house wakes up, or pausing with a rosary in hand.

Each of these small sparks reminds us that our relationship with God grows step by step. And like compounding interest, the more time we spend with Him, the deeper and stronger that relationship becomes.

Take a few minutes this week to watch this short reflection. It’s a gentle reminder that our spiritual journey unfolds day by day, and every choice shapes how close we grow to God.

A Growing Relationship with God

Excerpt from Hugs: Daily Inspirations for Women

This is why I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you. ... Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. - 2 Timothy 1:6 NCV

Your relationship with God is ongoing; it unfolds day by day, and it offers countless opportunities to grow closer to Him ... or to move away from Him. Each day you're confronted with a wide range of decisions: how you will behave, where you will direct your thoughts, with whom you will associate, and what you will choose to worship. These choices, along with many others like them, are yours and yours alone. How you choose determines how your relationship with God will develop.

Are you continuing to grow in your relationship with God? Hopefully, you're determined to make yourself spiritually mature. The rewards are worth the effort.

"Spiritual freedom is the state of having become childlike with God. Not childish, childlike." - Eugenia Price

Untying the Knots Within – One Step at a Time

Ready for a simple way to pause and care for your soul this week? Here are a few gentle ideas:
  • Mini Prayer: “Lord, guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Help me grow closer to You with each choice I make.”
  • Quiet Practice: Spend 5 minutes in silence this morning, noticing God’s presence around you. Focus on your breathing and let your mind rest in Him.
  • Saint Companion:
    • St. Pius of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio) (Sept 23) – Pray for perseverance in small daily acts of faith.

    • St. Vincent de Paul (Sept 27) – Ask for a heart that grows in service and love for others.

  • Rosary Moment: Use a single-decade knotted rosary to focus on one mystery or intention. Let each knot remind you that your relationship with God grows step by step.
  • Product Tip: Use the Radiant Light Pocket Rosary while reflecting on growing your relationship with God. Touch each knot as you silently invite Him into your choices and daily moments. This simple practice turns your rosary into a tool for focus, spiritual growth, and quiet confidence in your faith journey.

Rosaries to Inspire this Week:

When it comes to noticing those small daily conversions, a rosary can be such a simple yet powerful tool. Each knot is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with God in the middle of your day.

This week, I invite you to pray a decade asking God to guide your thoughts, words, and actions - letting each knot remind you to nurture your faith step by step.

I’ve chosen a few rosaries that not only encourage prayer but also bring joy through their colors - whether it’s a shade that makes you feel childlike at heart or simply your favorite. My hope is that one of these pieces inspires you to pause often, pray deeply, and keep your relationship with God growing strong through the little moments.

Let's pray ...

May God bless the little steps you take this week to grow closer to Him. Each small choice, each quiet moment, is a spark that can grow into a flame of faith, hope, and love.

This week, I challenge you to approach these moments with a childlike heart - notice the little conversions, welcome them, and let them guide you closer to God.

Take care,
Kathleen
