Freedom from Spiritual Traps

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” - 2 Corinthians 3:17

We frail human beings lose hope from time to time. When we do, we need the encouragement of friends and the life-changing power of prayer.

If we find ourselves falling into the spiritual traps of worry, discouragement, or despair, we can seek direction from God, and we can also solicit the encouraging words of friends and family members. God has promised that peace and joy are ours if we will only take the steps necessary to claim them.

Juliana of Norwich noted, "Peace and love are always alive in us, but we are not always alive to peace and love." Our task, simply put, is to guard ourselves against the spiritual traps that might trip us up and then to claim the peace, the love, and the power that can be ours.
