Use It or Lose It

Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you. - 1 Timothy 4:14

She was born Erma Louise Fiste, but she was much better known to fans by her married name, Erma Bombeck. Erma began her writing career working for a small, local newspaper in Ohio. But with hard work and talent, she moved steadily to the top.

Shortly before her death in 1996, Erma Bombeck wrote, "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I have not a single bit of talent left and could say, Lord, I used everything you gave me."

Like Erma Bombeck, you are blessed with special gifts. And as the old saying goes, "Talent is God's gift to you- how you use it is your gift to God." If Erma were here, she'd advise you to use your talent wisely, courageously, and often starting now.

"God has given you special talents - now it's your turn to give them back to God." - Marie T. Freeman

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!
