Your Monday Hug for Nov 24, 2025: An Example That Honors God

Happy Monday, my Friend!

A few years ago, my word of the year was “Light.” I chose it because I wanted to feel lighter in spirit, share more of Christ’s light with others, and - let’s be real - maybe lose a little weight too. 😄

This week’s theme is about honoring God by being the light of Christ.

I’m always amazed at how these themes seem to line up with the Church calendar. We just celebrated the Feast of Christ the King, which feels like the perfect reminder of who we’re reflecting when we shine His light.

So this week, I’m inviting you to honor God in simple, everyday ways - inviting someone to dinner, listening without distraction, or simply living with intention and kindness.

I hope you’ll scroll down for this week’s reflection and the feast days and rosaries I’m sharing. Then take a quiet minute with God - ask how He wants you to shine His light this week, and who in your life might need a little hope from you right now.

Take a few minutes to watch this week’s short reflection - it’s a quick pause to reset, refocus, and breathe in a little peace.

An Example That Honors God

Excerpt from Hugs: Daily Inspirations for Women

"You are the light that gives light to the world ... In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:14, 16 NCV

Our words speak, but our actions speak much more loudly. So whether we like it or not, all of us are role models. Since our friends and family members are always observing our actions, we inevitably influence the way they behave by the way we behave.

Well-known evangelist Dwight L. Moody once said, "It is a great deal better to live a holy life than to talk about it. Lighthouses do not ring bells & fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine."

The world needs women like you who are willing to stand up and be counted as positive role models. Your family and friends are watching you, and so is God. And He will reward your willingness to be the right kind of example.

“We are to leave an impression on all those we meet that communicates whose we are and what kingdom we represent." - Lisa Bevere

Untying the Knots Within – One Step of Faith at a Time

This week, focus on living your faith through small, intentional actions. Every kind word, patient response, and simple act of love is a way to honor God and share His light with the people around you.

  • Mini Prayer: “Jesus, help me be Your light today. Let my words and actions show Your love to others.”
  • Quiet Practice: Spend a few minutes sitting in silence with God. Ask Him to show you where your light is needed this week - and who might be waiting for a spark of hope only you can offer.
  • Saint Companion:
    • Saint Andrew Dung-Lac and Companions (Nov 24) - Patron saints of Vietnam and martyrs of faith, they shone Christ’s light through courage and perseverance.

    • Saint Catherine of Alexandria (Nov 25) - Patron saint of philosophers, theologians, virgins, and young women, she let her wisdom and faith illuminate every conversation.

    • Saint Andrew the Apostle (Nov 30) - As an Apostle and the patron saint of Scotland, he humbly brought others to Christ, reminding us that simple acts can lead others to the Light.

  • Product Tip: Attach one of our Rosary Markers to your keys, purse, or backpack as an everyday reminder to shine Christ’s light - and of the saints and angels who walk with you.

Let’s pray …

Father God,

Help me live in a way that shows Your love. Let my actions, big and small, shine Your light to the people around me. Help me be a good example for my family and friends, and use me to bring hope, kindness, and encouragement wherever I go.

Amen.

Walking with you in faith,

Kathleen

P.S. To my friends in the U.S., I wish you a blessed Thanksgiving and pray you get at least one meaningful moment with the people you love, even if it’s not on Thursday.
