08.07.2023 - Your Weekly Hug - Positive Inspiration for Your Week
Hi there! Happy Monday! Welcome to Your Weekly Hug!
Today, I invite you to spend the next ~4 minutes with me to hear a special inspirational message from the Hugs devotional. It's here to inspire and help guide you through the rest of your week!
And after the video finishes, you’re invited to take a few moments to sit quietly and reflect on what you heard.
If you'd like to learn more about the Serenity Prayer Pocket Rosary that is hanging on the doorknob behind Kathleen in the video, click here.
May Christ's peace be with you as you prepare for the week ahead! Please know I'm praying for you!
Hugs,
Kathleen
Courage and Character
"Have courage, daughter ... Your faith has made you well." - Matthew 9:22
Helen Keller could have been speaking about our generation when she offered this piece of wisdom: "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through trial and suffering is the soul strengthened."
In this new millennium the world seems filled with enough trials and suffering to last until the next millennium. And in such trying times we may be tempted to take shortcuts. But as famous opera singer Beverly Sills said, "There are no shortcuts to any place worth going." When facing difficult times - whether as a nation or as individuals - what's required is character, and lots of it.
So the next time you come face to face with trouble, don't back down. You can get through the tough times with a good old-fashioned, double-barrel dose of courage and character.
“You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try.” - Dolly Parton
