SPARKLE!
Observe people who are good at their work - skilled workers are always in demand and admired. - Proverbs 22:29
Born in 1928, she became the biggest box-office draw in America by the tender age of ten. Amazingly, millions of fans still love to watch her childhood performances. What’s the attraction of movies made so long ago? The films seem as fresh today as they did then, in part because of the advice a mother gave young Shirley Temple. Just before the director shouted, “Action,” Shirley’s mom whispered one word in her daughter’s ear: “Sparkle.” It was little Shirley’s reminder to concentrate and give the performance her full attention.
All of us can benefit from the one-word cue that helped make Shirley Temple a star. So whether you’re at work, home, school, or play, remember today and every day to sparkle. Your audience will love you for it.
“I pray, but I don’t pray to win. I pray for the inspiration to give my best.” - Althea Gibson
