Paying Attention

In the days before her invention, if you wanted baby food, you had to strain it yourself. And that's exactly what Dorothy Gerber was doing back in 1927 when she decided there had to be a better way. Luckily, her husband's family business produced canned fruits and vegetables. Do when Mrs. Gerber told her husband, Dan, that baby food would be a hit with moms, he listened, and the rest is history.

The Gerber story illustrates that great ideas can be right under our noses. You can make your world a better place if you keep your eyes open and your brain in gear.
