Your Monday Hug for Sep 8, 2025: Forget It!
Happy Monday, my Friend!
Happy Birthday, Mother Mary!
This week, my little reminder for you is simple: Forget It. We all get stuck replaying mistakes or missed opportunities - but holding on doesn’t help. Let go, trust God, and make space for His grace today.
Easier said than done, I know. I work on it every single day. One thing that helps me is surrounding myself with reminders of God’s love - little prompts that help me release what I can’t control and trust Him to take care of it.
Yesterday was historic: Saint Carlo Acutis and Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati were canonized! Both were young, both loved Jesus in the Eucharist, and both spent their lives actively bringing others closer to Him. I love what Pier Giorgio said to his friends: “The first of us to go to heaven will help the other to climb up.” Even our smallest prayers, acts of kindness, or moments of faith can lift someone else closer to Christ.
This week’s saints - from Our Lady of the Nativity to St. John Chrysostom - remind us that God walks with us through both triumphs and trials. Let’s embrace life fully, let go of what holds us back, and trust God in the process.

In this week’s Weekly Hug, we reflect on how forgetting past setbacks doesn’t mean ignoring them - it means trusting God with what we can’t change and moving forward with a light heart.

Should we accept only good from God and not adversity? - Job 2: 10 HCSB
Nancy Lopez is a member of the LPGA Hall of Fame and one of the most popular golfers in history. After earning more than her share of wins, Nancy had this advice about losing: "The first thing I do after losing a match is forget it." That's a timely tip for life on the golf course and life beyond the eighteenth green.
The next time you fall a little short, whether at work, home, or school, learn from your mistakes, but don't focus on them. You can't win this round if you're preoccupied with the previous one. No one wins them all, not even Nancy Lopez. But if you keep your mind in the right place, you'll be sure to win your share.
"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are and what you can rise above." - Maya Angelou
Untying the Knots Within – One Step at a Time
- Mini Prayer / Quiet Practice: Take a slow breath and say, “Lord, help me release what I cannot change and trust You with today.”
- Saint Companion:
-
Blessed Virgin Mary (Nativity, Sept 8) – reminds us that beginnings are sacred.
-
St. Peter Claver (Sept 9) – inspires patience and service despite obstacles.
-
St. John Chrysostom (Sept 13) – shows how words and actions rooted in love can heal both ourselves and others.
- Rosary Moment / Product Tip: Use a Single-Decade Traveler’s Rosary while reflecting on letting go. Why the Traveler’s Rosary? Because traveling takes action - it reminds us that letting go isn’t passive; it’s an intentional step forward. Touch each knot and silently release a worry or regret. This simple practice transforms your rosary into a tool for peace, clarity, and fresh perspective, helping you move through life with trust and purpose.

Amen.
