Carrying The Load

"God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." - James 1:12

In the 1940s, actresses of African-American descent were relegated to bit parts. The movies, it seemed, weren't ready for someone like Lena Horne.
But Lena was ready for them. She parlayed a ton of talent and beauty into a career as a leading lady, unheard of in those days for a woman of color. In look. ing back on her career, Lena was philosophical. She said, "The size of your burden is never as important as the way you carry it."
The next time you face a heavy burden, remember that there is a good way and a bad way to carry every load. The best way is to keep working, keep believing, and never give in to discouragement.
Because, as Lena Horne correctly observed, no load is too heavy if you discover the right way to carry it - but no load is light if you don't.
