Your Monday Hug Devotion for June 2, 2025: The Shepherd's Care

Welcome to this week’s Monday Hug Devotion!

The Shepherd’s care isn’t something we earn - it’s something we’re given, freely and fully. God, our Good Shepherd, watches over us with unwavering love. He searches for us when we’re lost, guides us when we stray, and holds us close when we’re afraid. His care is constant, even when we don’t notice it.

This week, we’re invited to look at our lives and ask:
Where am I in need of the Shepherd’s gentle care? Am I trying to navigate something alone that I should be surrendering to Him?

The Shepherd doesn’t scold or shame. He lifts, comforts, and leads us beside still waters. Even in our messiness, He stays close. It’s not always easy to trust, especially when we feel uncertain or weary. But Proverbs 5:21 reminds us, “The Lord sees everything you do, and he watches where you go.” He’s near, and He’s watching with love.

In this week’s reflection, you’ll find:

  • A moment to pause and consider where you need God’s protection or direction
  • A gentle reminder that the Shepherd never stops caring for His sheep
  • An invitation to rest in His presence when the path feels uncertain

Featured this Week: The Sacred Shield St. Benedict Door Rosary is more than a beautiful piece of home decor - it’s a powerful symbol of God’s protection and care. Like a shepherd standing guard, the St. Benedict Medal is a reminder that you are never alone. Hang it by your door as a daily invitation to trust in God’s nearness and strength.

Mary, Mother of God, Pray for Us!

The Shepherd’s Care

Be strong and brave, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, because the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or leave you. - 1 Chronicles 28:20

God is like a shepherd, continually watching His flock, searching for lost sheep, seeking those who need protection, guidance, and salvation.

God loves us and protects us. In times of trouble, He comforts us; in times of sorrow, He dries our tears. Sometimes we may feel lost or afraid, but we’re never alone; the face of God is always turned toward us. Proverbs 5:21 promises, “The Lord sees everything you do, and he watches where you go” (NCV).

Remember that God is as near as your next breath. So trust Him and turn to Him for solace and security.

“He goes before us, follows behind us, and hems us safe inside the realm of His protection.”  - Beth Moore

Bill will definitely be missed. Seeing the picture of Bill at the table reminded me of our puzzle time. 💖
