08.19.2024 - Your Weekly Hug - Positive Inspiration for Your Week

Hello! Welcome to a New Week!

I'm so glad you're here for this week’s Hug.

I hope last week’s theme, "The Search for Happiness," brought some joyful moments your way! Celebrating milestones such as a wedding, anniversary, or getting a child off to school can serve as meaningful reminders of God’s love and His desire for our happiness.

Building on this spirit, in this week's devotion, we focus on the art of communicating with clarity in our daily interactions. I hope you find it inspiring and encouraging. You can scroll down to watch the video and read the transcript.

But before you do that, don’t forget to download the free journaling page to enhance your prayer experience. This tool is designed to guide you in reflecting on the weekly devotion and connecting more deeply with God. You can download the journaling page using this link here.

After watching, I encourage you to take a few quiet moments with God to reflect on the message. If you use the journaling page, I’d love to hear your thoughts—feel free to share your reflections in the comments!

Wishing you a week filled with blessings and a deeper connection with God!
Hugs,
Kathleen

P.S. For some extra inspiration, I've got a fun new way for you to use your door rosary! Try holding it in your hands for a tangible connection with God—spin the beads while you pray to calm your mind and invite peace.

Our Sacred Shield St. Benedict Door Rosary comes in four lovely colors (Olive, Navy, Gold/Tan, and Gray), making it a perfect addition to any home or a heartfelt gift for your child's dorm or new space. I hope you find it as meaningful as I do—click here to explore!

Clear Communication

May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. - Psalm 19:14

None other than Frank Sinatra called Billie Holiday "the greatest influence on popular singing" of his generation. Though her career was short, plagued by health problems and addiction, Ms. Holiday forever changed the world of American jazz.

Billie summed up her performances this way: "When I sing a tune and feel it, you can bet the audience will feel it too." That's true with more than just singing. The next time you want to get your message across, remember that excitement is contagious -and so is apathy.

Whether you're a teacher, salesperson, manager, or parent, your audience won't get excited about your message until you do.

"There are many ways to communicate without actually speaking. Nonverbal communication and body language can convey as much, if not more, than speech." - Charmaine Saunders

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!

Karen, I’m so glad you enjoy the podcast and the book! YES! It is so important for us to remember that. Thanks so much for your insight and for sharing Hugs with many of your friends! God bless!

I enjoy your podcast each week and reading my " Hugs daily inspiration" each day. Have given this book to many friends! What strikes me today is “excitement is contagious —and so is apathy.” It’s important for each of us to remember that people sometimes see the apathy more than our excitement. Strive to be enthusiastic when around others. Until next Monday! Peace to all!
