On Guard against Evil
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." - 1 Peter 5:8-9
This world is God’s creation, and it contains wonderful evidence of His handiwork. But the world also contains countless opportunities to stray from the straight and narrow path that leads to happiness, fulfillment, and health. Temptations are everywhere, and the devil, it seems, never takes a day off. Our task, as thoughtful women living in a dangerous age, is to turn away from temptation and, if need be, to run in the opposite direction.
Evil remains abroad in the world, and far too many people still insist on sowing the seeds of destruction far and wide. We must be on guard against harmful people, harmful habits, and harmful thoughts. And once we've protected ourselves, we should do whatever we can to help our loved ones do the same.
